MEALS

Our meals are carefully planned, well balanced, and freshly cooked. All special dietary needs are catered for.

Breakfast is provided for children who arrive by 8-30. For those children that attend fulltime, a hot meal is served at lunchtime. Tea consists of sandwiches or salad, cake, yoghurt etc. Snacks are also provided mid-morning and mid-afternoon, consisting of wholemeal biscuits or crudites, and fruit, with milk or fruit juice to drink.

SETTLING IN NEW CHILDREN

If possible, we recommend a "settling-in" period of a month for all children wishing to attend the nursery. During this period, you, as a parent/guardian, are invited to accompany your child for an hour or two in the room they are to be joining. You can then see how your child interacts with the other children and the staff therein. This period also allows you to observe how we operate and provides you with the ideal opportunity to ask questions.

HOME FROM HOME

A key carer will liaise with you to understand your child's routines and ensure life at the nursery closely follows life at home. This understanding and familiarity leads to responsive care which in turn will result in greater emotional stability and better intellectual and language development. You will receive a daily report which outlines the activities of the day and you are welcome to telephone or visit the nursery at any time. All babies need comfort and love, but they need interesting surroundings too. Their brains develop as they interpret the information they receive through their senses of touch, sight, smell hearing taste, and through movement. We provide a rich multi-sensory experience to intrigue and excite your child and a calm, ordered and caring presence to offer comfort and support.

TODDLERS

When a child masters the art of walking, they become curious and have boundless energy We recognise that, during this period, children become increasingly independent, so Little Flyer's plans are designed to use these natural instincts by encouraging children to try and do things for themselves.

DANCING

Here at the Nursery we employ a professional dance teacher, who comes to the Nursery once a week to provide a singing and dance session. This we have found, is very enjoyable for the children. There is no extra fee for this service.
